Introducing Harding Paper: A New Name, a New Chapter
The Design Craft is becoming Harding Paper: a new name for our continuing love of color, pattern, and paper goods for thoughtful gifting and special occasions.
This is an evolution of the work you already know, not a departure from it. We have always cared about the paper behind our designs. Now we are fine-tuning the collection, trying different stocks, and introducing more ways to choose the feel and finish that suit you.
If you first found us as The Design Craft, welcome back. You may still see our former name in a few places while the transition continues, but Harding Paper is how we will be introducing ourselves going forward.
The same care, with room to explore
There is no single paper for every design or occasion. A soft surface, a warmer shade of white, or a substantial flat card can each bring a different character to the same artwork.
That is the spirit of this next chapter: building on what we already love, exploring new combinations, and making the details of our paper goods easier to choose. Our existing papers have been part of that story, and these new options give it another direction.
Meet the new card paper options
Our new standard card range brings together three distinct stocks, with choices depending on the card format:
- 120 lb Eggshell White. A refined white stock with a soft eggshell finish, offered for folded and flat cards.
- 118 lb Cotton Natural White. A soft cotton stock with a warm natural-white tone, also offered for folded and flat cards.
- 240 lb Double Thick Eggshell White. A substantial double-thick stock for flat cards only, for those who prefer a weightier card.
These are different ways to experience a design, rather than a ranking of one paper over another. Choose the surface, tone, and weight that feel right for your correspondence, invitation, or gift.
Formats and finishing touches
The new standard folded greeting card formats are 4.25 × 5.5 inches and 5 × 7 inches. The flat note card and invitation formats include those sizes plus 5.5 × 8.5 inches.
Envelope choices include White, Cream, Kraft, and Ebony, with a no-envelope option as well. Envelopes are included only when selected. Together, these choices let you keep the presentation simple, bring in a warmer neutral, or choose a darker contrast.
We are introducing these options across the relevant designs as the collection evolves. Each product page will show the sizes, stocks, envelopes, and set quantities available for that particular design. Specialty formats, including square and gold-foil cards, remain distinct from this standard range.
Continuing to consider our materials
Material choices remain part of how we develop the collection. As we explore papers, we are keeping FSC-certified options and other environmentally considerate materials or production methods in view, alongside the look and feel of the finished piece.
Those qualities are specific to each paper, not a blanket claim about the whole shop or every new card stock. Where a product has a verified certification or material attribute, we will share that detail on its product page.
A familiar spirit, a new chapter
Harding Paper gives this work a name that feels at home with where we are heading: thoughtful paper goods, playful patterns, and considered details for gifting and special occasions. New designs and different paper choices are part of that chapter, with the same care at its heart.
Thank you for being here, whether you have followed The Design Craft for years or are discovering Harding Paper today. We look forward to sharing what comes next.
